Celebrate Earth Day in Woodstock!

Woodstock City-Wide Yard Sale

When: Saturday, April 23rd.

Where: All over town!

Out with the old and in with the new! Add your yard sale to the list for this huge, city-wide, one-day-only event that is sure to bring plenty of shoppers to Woodstock. If you’ve been thinking of having a yard sale, this is not to be missed!

Greenstock Recycling Day

When: Saturday, April 23rd from 9 am to 1 pm.

Where: Woodstock Elementary School, 230 Rope Mill Rd.

Plan on doing your spring cleaning beforehand so you can unload all those unwanted items from your home and bring them to this extensive, free recycling event. You don’t even have to break a sweat- there will be drive through drop off, with volunteers unloading for you! Opportunities to recycle include:

Electronics, cell phones, and batteries

  • Items will be broken down, processed, and re-used, keeping dangerous toxins out of our landfills, and therefore out of our soil and waterways. All disposals are free, except crt TVs and crt monitors ($15 fee) and projection TVs ($30 fee).
  • Any cell phones collected will be donated to the Cell Phones for Soldiers program. For every cell phone donated, a soldier overseas will receive 60 minutes from a prepaid calling service.

Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs, hearing aids, eyeglasses, magazines, newspapers

  • Light bulbs must be in a sealed clear plastic bag. (The long tubular type cannot be accepted, but Home Depot accepts them year round.)

Clothing, shoes, accessories, bedding, towels, curtains, purses, etc.

  • USAgain will be on hand collecting textiles to recycle, reducing land fill waste, cutting down on emissions, and saving water.

Document destruction

  • Georgia Document Destruction will be on site to shred confidential documents. (Limit 5 boxes per car, residential only please.)

Special Trash Pick Up

  • The week of April 18th to April 22nd, Waste Management will offer special trash pick up.
  • Acceptable items include appliances, large items, and scrap metal. Construction debris will NOT be picked up.
