It also just so happens to be the beginning of the busy season for home sales, making this a great time to put your home on the market. Here at The Premier Group in Woodstock, we have years of experience helping clients sell their homes quickly and for a great price, so we know what works and what doesn’t. When it comes to helping your home stand out from the rest, the front yard makes a big difference!

Often referred to as “curb appeal,” the view of your home from the street sets the first impression for visitors. As the saying goes, “You only get one chance to make a first impression,” so make it good these spring lawn care tips.

Make sure the grass is greener

Invest the time and energy to ensure that your lawn is lush, green, and well-tended. If you’re not up for all of the weed-whacking, fertilizing, and mowing, hire a landscaper.

Keep it neat

Trees, bushes, flower beds, and other plantings should be kept neat and free of dead plant matter. Branches should not touch the house, block walkways, or cover windows, so be sure to regularly prune any offending trees or shrubs. Allowing overgrown foliage near your home can lead to mold growth on siding and leaves clogging up your gutters, not to mention giving visitors an overall impression of neglect.

Add some color

When selling your home you should keep your landscaping simple and neat, but do add some color with flowers. Choose just one or two colors to keep things cohesive. Annuals offer the most bang for your buck when it comes to colorful plantings, so plant some impatiens, geraniums, zinnias, or petunias near your mailbox, walkway, and even in pots on your front porch.
